“Ok, ok, don’t have a heart attack on me, I’d like for you to get through the evening in one piece. Well, maybe with a chunk missing from your neck, we shall have to see just how devilish I feel in the darkest depths of the places I am taking you.” Thelton smirked at her, he’d been a bit put out at her somewhat inappropriate joking, but he guessed as long as she was happy, he would go along with it. 

“Right, so, let’s go.” Thelton pulled her into him, holding her tightly, relishing having her in his arms once more, he smiled, before turning on the spot and apperating them to the outskirts of where they needed to be, he looked down at Susan, once he was sure she was ok, he let her go from his grip, missing the loss of her warmth instantly. Thelton held his arm out for her to take,  ”It’s just down here, we have to walk straight down this road, and then we are at the first surprise.” Thelton grinned at her widely. 

Susan’s eyebrow raised and she couldn’t help but laugh. “A chunk out of my neck? Dear god, you kinky little bastard.” she shoved him slightly but brought him back closer to her. “Where are you taking me oh my god I’m nervous now!” she laughed, but still a faint hint of nerves hit her in the pit of her stomach and she couldn’t tell whether it was more for the fact that he was taking her somewhere for a surprise or the fact that she had no clue what he was doing and it scared her slightly.

Susan took a deep breath as he apparated. She hated it more than anything, but he made her feel slightly more safe, so she just let him do his thing. As she opened her eyes she looked around but didn’t recognize a thing. Her hand instantly went to his when he offered it and she looked up at him curiously. “Oh dear, where are you taking me. Down dark roads and abandoned alley ways?” she laughed but followed him quite willingly.

“Oh, you are going to take a chunk out of me? Hmmm, I’d love to watch you attempt that, oh small one.” Thelton smirked at her, nudging her, cocking his head to the side, looking down at her. 

“Oh, I think if I bit hard enough I could get a nice tasty chunk out of you, I shall have to try it out later, when I have you all alone in a dark room.” Thelton smirked at her, winking. 

“What am I planning? Hmm, if I told you that dear one, it wouldn’t be a surprise, and I have plenty of surprises planned. I trust you will enjoy them all, I hope at least. Now, are we ready to roll?” Thelton held his other arm out for her. 

“I’m small in stature, yes, but drive? No. Not at all.” she wiggled her eyebrows as he nudged her and looked down at her. She made a funny face, wrinkling her nose and forehead before smiling back as usual.

“ooh don’t get me all excited, Stonem.” she winked at him. “All this talk about dark rooms is giving me feelings.” she smirked. “Mostly about my childhood but…” she trailed off, joking for the most part, and hoping he’d understand that she didn’t mind joking about what had happened to her to an extent. It helped her cope a great deal.

“I am ready to roll!” she told him excitedly. “Let’s go let’s go let’s go!” she said, jumping up and down on the balls of her feet, laughing as she did.

“Ah yeh the ever poisoning mind, well we are working on that aren’t we. Plus, I am back now, so I will not be tolerating this anymore madam. Do you remember the long list of things you are not allowed to say. I shall refresh your memory, basically, you cannot say ANYTHING bad about yourself, I mean it!” Thelton glared at her, before grinning, and nudging her. 

“Awwww, my girl misses me. Well, we will have to do something all together, once I have finished spoiling her equally as wonderful mother. Still intact? Wow, she must really love them. I was expecting them to have been ripped into little pieces! Biting the ears, hmmm, they must be very tasty. Ah, fangs? Should I be worried you will try and take a chunk out of me?” Thelton raised an eyebrow looking down at her. 

“Yup, families are shit, this is a fact. Hmmm, being happy, yup, this is something I shall be determined to achieve today! Well, tonight, we have a whole host of plans for you Miss Bones. So are you ready? Oh, and you had better enjoy them all, or perhaps I shall take a chunk out of you.” Thelton gnashed his teeth at her, laughing, holding onto her arm, as she took his. 

Susan smiled. She’d never tell him, but she really did appreciate the fact that he did want her to love herself. She knew that it was such a far off goal, but she really did love his effort. Susan rolled her eyes but kept the smile on her face. “Okay, okay, whatever you say.” she smirked, shaking her head.

“Yes we will!” she said happily. Charlie had been so giddy lately and Susan really couldn’t figure out why. It had been slightly the same for her though, just in the way that she knew she’d be graduating soon and off in the real world. “I won’t try and take a chunk out of you. I will take a chunk out of you. Just don’t give me a good enough reason to!” Susan laughed.

Susan’d eyebrows shot up. “What are you planning anyway?” she laughed. “You’d never be able to get a chunk out of me, but I appreciate the effort.” Susan winked.

Thelton smiled down at her, “You don’t change do you? Always putting yourself down, making out like everything is fine. Well I am sorry, and I do worry, and I will make it up to you. Whether you like it or not. Awwww, my little love, getting bigger by the day, I’d like to think she missed me, but I am sure she’s onto the next one by now.” Thelton smirked. 

“How are Luia and Zac doing, has she destroyed them yet? I’m glad to hear you are better, I want you to be well. No more jumping off cliffs ok? Not unless you have a parachute ok?” Thelton glared at her, before grinning. 

“Oh, well, shit doesn’t quite cover it, the joy of dealing with family based shit. Woo.” Thelton rolled his eyes, sighing deeply. “But, we are not talking about me, we are talking about you, and we are making it all about you, and making you happy!” Thelton smiled at her deeply. 

“I’m sorry, it’s just how my mind works.” she laughed, shaking her head. It really was though. She was just too used to it to be able to change. And she dealt with it well enough, so she figured everyone else could as well. “She misses you too. I think you’re her favourite of everyone, actually.’ she nodded.

“They are still fully intact, actually.” she said, slightly more impressed than she probably should have been. “She likes chewing on their ears though. She’s going to have big fangs like me soon, I just know it.” Susan laughed. “No more cliffs, I promise.” she said with a nod.

“I”m sorry.” Susan said with a frown. “Families are shit if you ask me. Aside from Charlie, of course.” she shrugged. “I want to make you happy too! So let’s go be happy and forget about all the shit and just…not be shit.” she said with a smirk, taking his arm and letting out a long sigh.

Thelton’s heart raced as he saw her, he felt his stomach turn over, the flutters of butterflies exploding once more within him. Thelton held her tightly, holding her against his chest, he muttered into her ear, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry I just left, and I missed your birthday, if its any consolation, I missed you incredibly, and thought about both you and Charlie incessantly. I also have a rather epic surprise, well, a few surprises, to make it up to you, to celebrate your birthday. I had some family matters, they couldn’t be avoided, or left, so I had to go, but they’re dealt with now, and I am back. I told you, I am your boomerang, I always come springing back to you.” Thelton kissed her forehead. “How have you been? How’s the most beautiful girl in the world doing? How are you doing? How’s your injuries? You look pretty ok now, and well, you just squeezed the life out of me, so I think your strength is back.” Thelton laughed, letting her go from his grasp, looking down at her, checking she was all still in one piece. 

Susan let go of him completely and smiled as he spoke. She nodded in understanding though. She had never been that big of a fan of her birthday anyway, so it wasn’t like it mattered too much that he had missed it. “You had a valid excuse, don’t worry.” she smiled brightly at him. “She’s great! Getting bigger and bigger every day, I swear.” Susan smirked. “I”m good too!” she said happily, with a sigh. “All healed, and my legs are good as new. Still slightly more tender than I should be, but I’ll be fine.” she shrugged. “What about you? How have you been?” she asked with a wide smile on her face. Thelton had a way of making her forget everything that was going on in her own life and focus on almost everything that wasn’t that.
